Outreach Director

George H. Salter, Jr. a.k.a. Modavador g has nearly 30 years working with the criminal justice system, providing inspirational guidance and reentry support to prison inmates and returning citizens. Under the leadership of the world-renowned Les Brown, Mr. Salter found his passion to inspire others through the gift of motivational speaking.

Mr. Salter is the recipient of the Illinois Department of Corrections Humanitarian Award, presented by Marcus King, an IDOC Administrator. He was further recognized by Illinois State Representative, La Shawn K. Ford for outstanding community engagement, dedication and hard work that led to many returning citizens’ successful re-entry.

Mr. Salter loves to share the good news of the gospel to provide encouragement and hope to youth, young and old adults in their transition. Founder and President of Rhyme 2 Reason in 2013, this has provided a platform to facilitate his work within churches, schools, civic organizations and department of correction facilities across the nation.

Commonly referred to as "Modavador G" on the M-I-C for his Lord and Savior G.O.D., Mr. Salter is an
ordained minister, author, conference speaker, curriculum developer, Bible storyteller instructor, and
gospel spoken word recording artist. Using his spiritual gifts to bless others for God’s glory is a
lifelong passion. He is infatuated and motivated by the Word of God, and as an oral learner, he has
been an inspiration to thousands.

When not delivering God’s Word, Mr. Salter serves as the Director of Outreach for one of Chicago’s
most innovative Substance Use Disorders Treatment programs—Above and Beyond Family
Recovery Center—he works tirelessly throughout the city of Chicago formalizing partnerships with the
leadership at high performing Behavioral Health, Faith-based, Healthcare, Workforce Development,
Education and Corrections community-based organizations. He has spent countless hours providing
education and professional development to industry professionals on how to better serve and address
the immediate needs of his organizational constituents.

Locally, Mr. Salter serves as a ministry volunteer at the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice: Illinois
Youth Center (IYC) in St. Charles, Illinois. Mr. Salter is a member of Second Baptist Church of
Wheaton under the leadership Rev. Kevin Williams, Senior Pastor.

Mr. Salter received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from State University of New
York at Geneseo School of Business; and is currently pursuing a Master in Arts Educational
Leadership from Gateway Seminary. His professional development involvement includes: Moody
Bible Institute; Benedictine University; and Institute for Prison Ministries at Wheaton College. Civic
work Ministry Volunteer for Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice, and Illinois Youth Center (IYC) in
St. Charles, Illinois. Board seats includes: 7-70 Re-Entry Services; and Save One Life Foundation

Mr. Salter is married to Nina for 23 years and the proud father of three daughters Brittney, Simone,
and Daisha, and two grandchildren: Myion and Brionna.
